Elora Mill Wedding- Nicole and Graham

The Elora Mill is, in my opinion, one of the prettiest wedding venues around and it is such a great space for wedding photography. If someone asked me to imagine a quaint small village, Elora is exactly what I’d picture. Plenty of cute little shop fronts all set up inside heritage buildings, some awesome hiking trails, and the rush of the Grand River make this area a photographer’s dream!

This is why I was so excited to second shoot Nicole and Graham’s wedding for Bryn’s Photography in May. I love visiting and photographing historic buildings, so I was thrilled to work at the Mill as well as the sweet heritage home that Graham rented for his getting ready space. I also loved seeing the ways Graham included his own heritage into his wedding outfit, like the tie made from his family’s plaid and the ring his grandmother bought for him when he was young.

Nicole and Graham opted to do a first look, which I think is always a good idea. Before Nicole and her bridesmaids arrived Graham and I had time to go around Victoria Park and grab some more portraits. It was so sweet spending this time with him and hearing him talk about Nicole. After just a brief conversation it was clear to me how much Graham simply adores his bride, and has since they were kids in grade nine. As someone who married her prom date, high school sweethearts always make me feel especially soft and melty on a wedding day.

Once these two had a sweet first look among the trees it was time to head over to the Mill and get the wedding started. These two had a lovely ceremony followed by one of the most fun and upbeat receptions I’ve ever been to. This crowd really knew how to party! The dancing kicked off with a lively hora, followed by the couples first dance which was filled with intricate and beautiful choreography. The couple did a second dance to a song Nicole wrote and recorded for Graham as a wedding day surprise! How sweet is that?

This couple planned such a wonderful celebration, with so many special details, and I was so thankful to be a part of their day.
