A Summer Wedding at Earth to Table: The Farm with Alicia and Peter

I am so excited to finally be sharing this gorgeous summer wedding, especially since we’re starting to see some nice spring weather finally. It’s making me feel very celebratory, and super excited for the upcoming wedding season!

I get pretty excited to shoot at Earth to Table: The Farm for a lot of reasons. First of all, it’s a gorgeous venue with so many amazing photo locations! From the sunflower fields, the farm buildings, the meadow right beside the venue, and the little orchard at the front there are so many options to choose from when taking photos. And with it being a Pearle Venue the service is phenomenal! Plus, this venue serves the best vegetarian meal option I’ve ever had at a wedding! So you can bet I was pretty excited to help my friend Bryn shoot Alicia and Peter’s wedding last August.

Peter did his getting ready photos in the house he and Alicia share, and it was so sweet looking around and seeing all their photos and other things they had collected over the course of their relationship. He had all his items for detail shots ready to go, which automatically made him one of my favourite grooms of the year! He and his friends had such a chill getting ready space, and they were all so wonderful to work with!

Once the guys were all dressed they headed over to the venue to get things set up in the reception space, which gave me time to photograph the ceremony space. I’ll admit, I usually prefer bright and colourful florals but I was absolutely blown away by the beautiful florals that were set up at the outdoor ceremony site! The mix of big, fluffy hydrangea’s with soft white roses and other accent florals was truly dreamy.

Finally, time for my favourite part of the wedding day! Peter and Alicia chose to do their first look in front of the sunflower field, and it added such a joyful pop of colour to the moment. From there we went all over the venue getting their couples portraits as well as some groups shots before the ceremony.

After their couples portraits came the most important part of the wedding day! Alicia and Peter planned a beautiful civil ceremony, with many sweet moments that made their guests smile and laugh. My favourite part of the ceremony was when one of Alicia’s bridesmaids played the violin during the license signing!

This couple put so much effort into planning a fun wedding for their guests, I loved so many of the details they organized! They had a big band playing during their cocktail hour for entertainment, they choreographed a stunning first dance, and ordered some delicious special treats for their guests! I almost didn’t want to leave the barn to take their sunset photos because I knew that meant the end of this lovely day. But the beautiful golden sunset that we got made it more than worth leaving all the amazing entertainment.

Weddings like this make me so grateful to be able to do the work that I do, because there’s nothing better than celebrating the love of an amazing couple like Alicia and Peter! What a beautiful day, thank you so much for reading!
