Oakville Beach Maternity Shoot with Cassandra and Trent

This spring I had the honour and the pleasure of taking beautiful maternity photos for and old friend of mine. Cassandra and Trent were not only my first photo shoot of the year but also my first repeat clients, and I could not be more thrilled to have captured images that will forever remind them of this first step in becoming parents together!

We met at South Shell Park in Oakville for the shoot, and let me say that this is a stunning location for a beach session in the Greater Toronto Area. It has all the things necessary for a beautiful and romantic session as well as some really dramatic elements that make it a dream for photographers. I know Cassandra loves doing these kinds of shoots and I was so happy to find such an amazing location for such an important stage in their lives and their relationship.

Cassandra and I met when we both worked at a winery in Orangeville, and we quickly bonded over our silly humour and love of wine and travel. When I first started doing couples shoots to practice my techniques and build my portfolio, Cassandra volunteered to be one of my guinea pigs and I finally got to meet Trent. From my viewpoint, these two are a perfect example of opposites attract. I have always seen Cassandra as a very happy and outgoing person, and when I met Trent he definitely gave off strong but silent vibes. But it wasn’t long before I saw him open up in her presence and gaze at her in adoration without my prompting. From that first meeting I knew these two had something special, and I was so thrilled to hear the exciting news when they got pregnant!

Capturing these memories for this amazing couple was so much fun! For one thing, they brought their sweetheart of a pup, Jax, and I absolutely LOVE shoots that include dogs. They also wore such cute coordinating outfits which were so great to photograph, and Cass made the most adorable flower crown! Plus, these two share such an amazing love and I could truly sense just how excited they are for the adventure that awaits them as parents. All these elements made this a maternity photo shoot to cherish, in my (totally unbiased, lol) opinion.

Cassandra and Trent, I wish you both the very best with your sweet baby boy. May your family know limitless love and joy, and may every hope and dream you have for your son come true.
