A Spring Wedding at Maple Lane Haven Barn with Ivana and Allan

Oh goodness, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog. I’ve been so lucky to be so busy this summer with the most amazing couples, but I’m so glad I’m breaking my blog writing hiatus to share this amazing couple with you!

You might remember Ivana and Allan from an earlier post on my blog about their stunning golden hour engagement shoot in Orangeville. We might not have gotten a stunning sunset on their wedding day, but I still had a wonderful time with this sweet and friendly couple.

When I arrived at the venue Allan was kind enough to give me a quick tour and let me know where Ivana was getting ready. As I entered the main barn where the bride and her girls were getting ready the first thing I heard was Ivana’s big, joyful laugh. Even the threat of non-stop rain and potential thunderstorms was not enough to dampen this girls spirits! I set to work getting detail and candid images of Ivana and her girls getting ready.

Once Ivana was all glammed up it was time to get her into her stunning Morilee wedding dress! Seeing what dresses my brides pick is always one of my favourite parts of the day, and Ivana chose a truly beautiful gown. With the graceful off the shoulder sleeves, and the way it shimmered as she walked she truly looked like a fairytale princess!

Ivana and Allan chose to do a first look on their wedding day, which I think is always a great idea. It worked out especially well for Ivana and Allan because it meant we got some outdoor photos before the rain started! Luckily, these two were able to role with the punches and we did some extra bridal portraits indoors before the ceremony started.

Isn’t it sweet how in every photo of them looking at each other, they just light up? I am so lucky to be able to witness love stories like this for work.

Due to the rain the ceremony had to be moved inside, but luckily this venue is gorgeous and an indoor ceremony is just as pretty as an outdoor one! Ivana and Allan had a beautiful ceremony filled with laughter and sentiment, and just like that they officially became husband and wife!

As the ceremony was happening we could hear the sound of rain pouring on the roof, so after the ceremony we decided to do bridal party and family photos on the porch at the entrance of the venue. This meant that Ivana and Allan had plenty of time to interact with guests as well, since so many were running out to their cars to grab things. It was so wonderful watching these two interact with all the people that they love, and all the guests were clearly so excited to celebrate this amazing couple.

Finally, after photos with all the loved ones it was time to get the party started! This was such a lively event with people who were so excited to be celebrating Ivana and Allan. Everyone was being so sociable during the dinner (a few even stepped outside to watch as we did sunset photos) and once the dance floor opened up there was always plenty of people on it clearly having the time of their lives. It certainly helped that Ivana and Allan were almost always on the dance floor with their guests!

I had a lovely time working with Ivana and Allan, and I wish them all the very best in their marriage. I hope these images will help them look back on their day fondly as they grow old together.
