Last month I got to shoot such a sweet and unique engagement shoot for Kaitlin and Christiaan. They chose to do their session on the farm where Kaitlin grew up, which just so happens to have a lovely greenhouse filled with flowers on the property. Of course, the second I heard that I was so excited to be able to shoot in such a cool space!
I showed up early to the farm, and was able to meet Kaitlin’s parents before she and Christiaan arrived. They were so excited for her and Christiaan, and told me how it was the year of weddings in their family. In fact, Kaitlin’s brother was getting married the same week we did Kaitlin’s engagement shoot!
Kaitlin and Christiaan were so sweet to work with, and I felt so lucky to be able to take these photos for them right before Christiaan left for the Netherlands for a few months. I loved that they chose to include some elements of Christiaan’s Dutch heritage into the shoot, namely their beers and his clogs that he wore for the second half of the shoot!
If you’ve been reading through my website you’ll know that I absolutely love any shoot that involves a dog, so I was thrilled when Kaitlin mentioned including their two rescues, Piper and Valo. Like most dogs, they weren’t the most cooperative but it was so sweet watching all four of them interact as a family! I always find it so personal when couples choose to include their pets in some of their engagement photos!
